Start with Middle Value
All Skill Levels Welcome!
2 Day Workshop
Dates/Times: Saturdays, November 6th & 13th, 9:30am-12:30pm each day
Location: Online Zoom Meeting
Instructor: Irena Roman www.irenaroman.com
Through the application of wet-on-wet washes, participants will learn to achieve luminous light effects and lush darks with transparent watercolor. Beginning with middle value, we’ll create paintings that exude instant atmosphere. The evocative beauty of utilitarian objects –transformed when infused with light- will be the focus. This workshop is designed to enhance creative and technical skills.
Participants will paint from supplied reference. Some previous watercolor experience is helpful.
The workshop will meet via Zoom for 2 consecutive Saturdays, with an opportunity to email the instructor with work in progress for critique and/or advice between Zoom meetings.
Irena Roman is a signature member of The American Watercolor Society, The Transparent Watercolor Society of America, The New England Watercolor Society and the USA Honor Society. She’s received many awards of distinction in the United States and across the globe for both her painting and for her illustration work. Additionally, she’s a Professor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston, with over 25 years of teaching experience.
