WATERCOLOR BASICS (For Beginners)

Love the look of watercolor but you don’t know where to begin? Or, have you tried watercolor painting and need a refresher? This course will get you off to the right start!
You will be learning basic watercolor techniques through a series of demonstrations, small paintings and exercises, and one-on-one instruction. In this class you will learn essential watercolor techniques, such as brush handling, working with washes, and glazing. We will also cover basic design, color mixing and correcting watercolor mistakes.
For those of you who have taken this class with Joan before: There will be all new projects this year! Feel free to take the class a second time for a new experience.
Joan has taught taught both youngsters and adults for over 30 years, and is a Signature Member of the RI Watercolor Society. Joan believes that even though watercolor has a reputation as a tricky medium, with a good attitude, practice and the proper instruction, you can learn to paint in watercolors!
