Join Bill for this 3-day, plein air workshop focusing on the fun (and sometimes frustrations) of painting watercolor outside. Each day will start with a demo on location, either in the park or close by. During the demo, Bill will guide you through picking a scene, fine-tuning your composition with rough thumbnail sketches, a quick value sketch then onto the painting. After which, you can paint the same demo scene or set off to paint a scene that speaks to you. Students will reconvene at the Society or on a designated location for an informal crit around 3:00 pm.
In case of rain, please bring a great image from which you’d like to work. The classroom space downstairs will be used if a rain date is warranted.
Bill’s ‘plein air’ materials list is attached. Please be familiar with the set up and use of your easel. Don’t waste your time during the workshop trying to figure out a new easel.
