Untitled: Writing About Painting This workshop will explore the purpose of writing about your own work, and the potential of a well-written artist’s statement. We will dissect the elements of an effective statement, as well as a bad one, and establish some simple guidelines to follow when creating a draft. We will go through the writing and editing process, and learn how to craft a statement that says what you mean. We will also discuss the power of titling your work, and how to approach the question of titles. If you have an existing artist’s statement, please bring two printed copies, as well as two to four images of current work with titles.
