Workshop Description
:
June has been an instructor at the New Britain Museum of American Art for over 20 years. Drawing inspiration from the pieces in the museum's permanent collection or the artwork from the museum's special exhibitions, keep her lesson plans ever changing and her students returning year after year.
For this workshop June will be reviving a few of her classes' favorites. Working from June's reference materials, these lessons will explore color theory, the importance of values and edges, and a variety of painting techniques.
This workshop is not about learning to paint in June’s style. It will be a series of fun, different and rewarding lessons where students can
strengthen their painting skills and achieve satisfying results regardless of their level of expertise
June Webster holds a degree in painting from the University of CT and is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the New England Watercolor Society, the Northeast Watercolor Society, the CT Watercolor Society and holds memberships in the CT Women Artists Association, the Academic Artists Association of MA and the New Haven Paint and Clay Club.
She has won several awards in exhibits throughout the Northeast including the American Watercolor Society, the CT Watercolor Society and many others. June has sold several paintings to private and corporate collectors and is part of the New Britain Museum of American Art's permanent collection, the New Haven Paint and Clay Club's permanent collection and the CT Artists Collection at the UCONN Medical Center.
For many years she has taught art to adults and children at the New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain CT, Artspace of Cheshire, CT, Gallery 53 of Meriden, CT the Cheshire Academy and in the Cheshire, CT Public School system.
June displays her work at the Fine Art Line Gallery, Woodbury, CT and the Depot Gallery, Ludlow, VT. She currently lives in Cheshire, CT with her husband and has three grown children.
